The Cajun Chess Affiliate Program: What's it about? |
| With our Affiliate Program, Schools, chess clubs, online businesses or just anyone who is a fan of the game can share in our profits via an affiliate-link partnership with CajunChess.com. The program offers a fun and unique opportunity to make commission money on sales resulting from click-throughs via your website! Put simply, when someone clicks through to our site via your special affiliate link(s), our Affiliate Program tracks that visitor for you and records any purchases - including tournament entries - they make during their visit. You will receive a 5% commission on those purchases; or you can redeem your commission for a Cajun Chess gift certificate, at the value of 10% of the total sales generated from that customer. If the visiting customer from your web site does not make any purchases from Cajun Chess at the time of their initial 'click-thru' visit, but does make a purchase or purchases directly from us within a period of six months following their initial visit from your site, you will STILL receive the commission on their purchase(s)! (Note: Certain "circumstantial requirements" apply)
For example: If a visitor who clicks through from your site makes a purchase in our online store of $100.00 in value, you will earn a commission of $5.00 on that sale!

How do I join and take part in the program? |
Joining the Affiliate Program is quick and easy! Here are the four simple, but essential steps:
- First complete our application, supplying the basic info necessary to create your affiliate profile and id.
- After you've joined our program, your unique Affiliate linking code will be sent to you via e-mail. The code is a special HTML hyper-link containing your unique Affiliate ID for your website that will allow a link to Cajun Chess, and simultaneously access our Affiliate Program with that unique ID.
- Acquire one of our Cajun Chess graphics for display in a reasonably conspicuous area of your page(s) - so you can get lots of click-throughs! (See the cool graphics further below, and info on how to easily download them!)
- Copy and paste the code into your website's HTML, and make it a hyper-link associated with your chosen Cajun Chess graphic; thus linking the graphic and making the connection.
(Again, see our Cajun Chess banners and logos further below)
The following is an example of the type of Affiliate Link URL that will be e-mailed to you after completing our affiliate program application:
http://www.cajunchess.com/affiliates/click.pl?id=yourUniqueID
(*IMPORTANT: The "yourUniqueID" part at the end is shown here in place of what will be your site's unique affiliate ID, which will be created during your application process.)
-You MUST have this Affiliate Link URL on your website to enable the Affiliate Program to track your visitors!!
An example of how the pasted code, in conjunction with your chosen Cajun Chess graphic, properly must look in your website's HTML would be:
<a href="http://www.cajunchess.com/affiliates/click.pl?id=yourUniqueID">
<img src="CajunChess_graphic235x60.gif" width=235 height=60 border=0></a>
(Note: If you type the code in manually, be sure that your actual Affiliate Link URL line(the first line, between the first two "<" and ">" signs) is a single unbroken line - that is, without any "carriage returns" or "intended" line breaks. Otherwise, the link may not work.)
REMEMBER: IF YOU DO NOT INCLUDE THIS AFFILIATE LINK URL, WHICH WILL CONTAIN YOUR UNIQUE AFFILIATE ID, AND WHICH ACCESSES THE AFFILIATE PROGRAM ON OUR SERVER, YOUR VISITORS CANNOT BE TRACKED ON OUR SITE!
-- That's pretty much all there is to it!

How are my Commissions paid? |
| A report will be generated and a check will be mailed out to you or your organization quarterly.
|
How can I DOUBLE what I am paid? |
- Double Your Commission!...
Our affiliates all have an available option of redeeming their earned sales commission for a Cajun Chess gift certificate -- with a value of double their commission amount!
For example -- If you were owed a commission of say $35.00, it is redeemable for a $70.00 Gift Certificate in our online chess store.
-- Pretty Cool!

Other Details: |
Sequential tracking of affiliate 'click-thru' customers and their purchases is accomplished with the use of "cookies"(see below). The Affiliate Program can only track a specific click-thru customer's return visit to our site if they are visiting from the same actual computer or system on which they made their initial click-thru visit; since this would be the computer that has their necessary placed 'tracking cookie'.
Computers or systems on which cookies have been 'dis-abled' will not be trackable by the Affiliate Program for future visits.
("Cookies are files containing information about visitors to a web site (e.g. user name and preferences, tracking number, purchase order number, etc.). This information is provided by the user during their first visit to a web server. The server records this information in a text file and stores this file on the visitor's hard drive. When the visitor accesses the same web site again the server looks for the cookie and configures itself based on the information provided."
